Cape Kiwanda

January 19, 2010|Posted in: News5 Comments

This is the beautiful Cape Kiwanda area in Pacific City Oregon. I left the house at 4:30am in hopes of catching a nice sunrise on the coast. This is always hit or miss (usually miss), but on this particular morning, I wasn’t dissapointed. Those are 20 foot swells crashing into the sandstone cliffs below.

    G’day Jesse,

You’ve certainly captured a stunning moment from the Cape.  Not sure what the criteria might be for a winning entry but this one certainly captures one’s discerning eye.  I wish you all the best in the contest with this worthy entry.

I also felt it time to let you know how much I appreciate your flickr input.  I wholeheartedly concur with one of your recent posts regarding simplistic comments vs considerate and carefully composed responses.  Personally, I find your honest comments equally as well thought out as your outstanding imagery.  It’s a shame when so few make the time to consider an opportunity to offer something beneficial that an artist might consider to improve their photographic efforts.

I may be in the minority but I applaud your willingness to set the standard in both areas (imagery and comments) and only hope there are others (unlike Ms Richardson) who continually benefit from your time, talents, and consideration in any constructive critique you might offer.

Finally, I would encourage you with this final thought.  Rest assured there are many more silent flickr viewers that ARE appreciative of your considerable efforts and those of your talented peers.

    Respectfully,

    ~ rick stamm ~

Beautiful like all your others. Love all these capes along the coast… We traveled there this summer and can’t wait to return.

Jesse – That is a wonderful capture. Love the composition and light. I had always associated the coast with the sunset. i am no morning person, but ur shots are really tempting me to push myself out of bed early :)
